Weekly note 3
/i//tn_butterflyspirit.jpg

Hello well I have tried to write these words three times now only to come back and see a blank page. I am still very tired from my not being well and I hope that I can update my site in the next few weeks leading up to december.

I have been unable to go to work or do anything really so I have slept and took pills to get rid of the pain.

I am just managing to come out of the stuper.

My daughter was at home with me today and brought down my pc from a very cold room and is now right where I can use it at any time of the day or night.

I hope that you will enjoy the next couple of verses found from my poetry book of years gone by......

Mums moments   ….. Nearly 70

She brought up five children all with differing characters developed by being strong,

We all had our own views on what we wanted from our lives.

We all vied for her time and pulled her every way possible, she only seemed to have five minutes when we were going to bed for each of us, before starting her housework at night once we all slept.

We were taken to visit my grandparents as children and my dad would take us to visit my other grand parents.

I could go on but I have chosen to share just a few precious and most special moments.

Has there been times when your mum has done something so simple

and so special that it took your breath away,

But knowing that I have had some very special moments with my mum,

I was going to a close friend’s daughter’s funeral,

She ensured that I ate, she made me two boiled eggs, and then went to her

Wardrobe and let me wear My late aunt’s coat, I felt so very honoured.

There was a time when my son was only about five and she took him

He brought me a beautiful white china teapot, but I know it was something

She had picked.

When my dad passed, mum got photographs reprinted and said that I could have one of her and the one of my mum dad and my two lots of grandparents, both in frames which I still have …..

When I was older, and on my wedding day she gave me a sixpence for my shoe,

This was to bring me luck and taught me a verse my auntie Emily taught her,

‘ something old, something blue put a sixpence in your shoe’

I still have this sixpence and treasure.

She made me the most beautiful flower centre pieces for my tables and these were given as momento’s to my lady guests.

She has given me space when I am hurting,

She has taught me to be strong and to ‘stand on my own two feet’

She doesn’t always understand me,

Then truly I don’t always relate to her,

She is my mum and I am a person with a part of her deep strength, and flinty nature,

And have learned how to be the woman I am.
